The 2016 Chassagne Montrachet Villages comes from three parcels supplemented this year with a couple of purchased barrels. It was rather closed on the nose when I tasted it despite coaxing. The palate is clean and precise with good acidity, pretty thanks to the hints of rosewater and orange pith, not complex but with satisfying length. I would give this a year after bottling to allow the aromatics to develop, but it is a commendable village cru given the difficulties of the growing season.
