The wine retains gorgeous freshness and clarity throughout, showing terrific balance in a somewhat rustic yet pleasing style. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014. These are two beautiful wines from Braida, the estate that put barrel-aged Barbera on the map in a big way. Importer: Vinifera Imports, Ronkonkoma, NY; tel. (631) 467-5907
Deep crimson. Sweet vanilla-laced dark and sour cherries. Very fluid and fresh and elegant especially on the mid palate, where it is delightfully fresh and scented. A delicate savoury edge adds complexity but still allows the purity of the fruit to fly. Very well managed tannins are smooth and present but barely noticeable because of all the lovely fragrance.
