The 2016 Puy-Blanquet is a gorgeous, classically built Saint-Émilion that emphasizes freshness and purity. Deceptively medium in body, the 2016 is supple, deep and incredibly inviting. Sweet tobacco, cedar, leather and licorice add lovely aromatic top notes. Pliant and inviting, this incredibly delicious yet understated Saint-Émilion will be hard to resist in its youth. It is also one of the undisputed Sleeper gems of the vintage. Don't miss it.
Blended of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the medium garnet-purple colored 2016 Puy-Blanquet delivers black cherries, warm redcurrants and black plum preserves on the nose with wafts of stewed tea, tobacco and bay leaves. Medium-bodied, the palate has a pleasant chewiness to the texture and plenty of earth-laced red and black fruits, finishing on a peppery note.
