Tasting notes
A cabernet with balance and tannin backbone that gives it tension and focus. Full body, solid depth of fruit and a mushroom, spice and berry character. Clearly outstanding. Drink or hold.

90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot. Bright nose. Dust and cocoa powder with cassis and dark plum fruit. Smooth mouthfeel with slightly astringent tannins and smoky/cocoa flavours. Dark fruit, tea and dark earth on the finish. Lacks elegance. (MD)
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is a blend from a handful of sites, is outstanding. Racy and pliant, with tons of vintage 2012 resonance, the Cabernet Sauvignon impresses for its overall balance. The flavors are bright, floral and energetic throughout, with lovely palate presence and tons of near-term appeal.
Beringer’s 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa offers plenty of ripe blackcurrant fruit intermixed with notions of licorice, Christmas fruitcake and a touch of oak. It possesses a savory, medium to full-bodied, expansive mouthfeel, so drink it over the next 10-12 years.
