Score 88+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2006
(equal parts grenache, mourvedre and syrah, with a bit of counoise) Medium red. Jammy cherry, iron, tobacco, minerals and pepper on the nose. Pure, penetrating and quite dry, and not currently expressive. Showing more black olive, spice and soil character than primary fruit today. Finishes a bit edgy and rustic, with notes of leather, pepper and black olive. Distinctly Old World in style.
