2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Mountain

Glass-staining ruby. Pungent, assertively spicy scents of red- and blackcurrant, licorice, pipe tobacco and cocoa powder, plus a sexy floral quality. Broad and pliant but focused, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors, a candied cherry note and an exotic rose pastille nuance. There's a spine of minerality here that keeps the sweet fruit and floral flavors in check and adds lift and cut to the long, spicy finish. Very young but has the depth and balance to reward at least a decade of patience.
