The 2012 Chardonnay Mays Canyon is all about texture. White orchard fruits, almonds and sweet spices open up in a pretty, silky Chardonnay endowed with gorgeous balance and understated class. This is the most open and accessible of the Littorai Chardonnays.
(13.6% alcohol): Light-medium yellow. Restrained, pure aromas of lemon drop, menthol and stone, plus hints of anise and wild herbs. Sweeter than the Charles Heintz on entry, then firm and understated in the mid-palate, with youthfully subdued flavors of citrus fruits and soil-driven minerals. This delicate, sharply delineated chardonnay needs a couple years in bottle to express itself.
The 2012 Chardonnay Mays Canyon blossoms in the glass with superb depth and texture, yet maintains its essential minerality and tension. Smoke, slate, gunpowder and bright lemon/citrus notes flow through to the salivating finish.
About the producer
