Score 97/100 · Drink 2032-2052, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2025
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill is the most somber of the wines at Diamond Creek, as it so often is. Graphite, pencil shavings, crème de cassis, new leather, menthol and scorched earth stain the palate. Blackberry, espresso, licorice and incense are all dialed up to the maximum. Broad swaths of chocolatey tannin sustain the explosive finish. The Volcanic Hill is not at all subtle, but who cares?
