Tasting notes
Matured in 80% French oak (18% new) and 20% American oak. All the allure of Chardonnay here: spicy oak, baked apple, flintiness and tropical overtones – it seems to run the full spectrum of Chardonnay. Vivid acid that enlivens the palate, and keeps all that rich, ripe flavour fresh. Long finish. The epitome of top-quality California Chardonnay. (RH)

A bright yellow hue, the 2022 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast offers a gorgeous nose with bright and ripe aromas of flint, candied green apples, honeyed citrus, and sea spray. The palate is zesty and medium to full-bodied, with great tension and balance all the way through. This beautiful, vibrant wine from winemaker Chantal is a pleasure to drink now and will drink well over the next 7-8 years. I personally prefer this Chardonnay to the Camp Meeting Ridge.
Fermented with ambient yeasts, 80% in 288-litre French oak barrels (18% new) and 20% in stainless steel. pH 3.31, TA 7.3 g/l. Medium lemon in colour. Rich and ripe on the nose – candied pineapple, yellow apple and juicy yellow peach. Layered with toasty oak aromas, sweet vanilla and popcorn. Mouth-watering acidity on the palate. (SCJ)
