The 2017 Cabernet Franc Nathan Coombs Estate is layered, concentrated, and also quite powerful. Crème de cassis, grilled herbs and smoke struggle to emerge from a wine that possesses tremendous fruit purity at this stage. I can't wait to see what the next year brings, as the 2017 is incredibly promising.
Deep purple-black in color, the 2017 Cabernet Franc Nathan Coombs Estate (a barrel sample) sings of kirsch, redcurrant jelly and rose hip tea with wafts of cigar box and menthol. Medium-bodied, fine, fresh and elegant, it has beautiful perfume and a lovely lingering lift to the finish. 275 cases are expected to be made.
