Tasting notes
The outstanding 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Heritage Ridge comes from a single 1.5-acre block planted to Clone 191. An attractive hint of leafiness lends complexity to the cherry and cassis fruit on the nose, while the palate is medium- to full-bodied, creamy-supple and expansive, with a long, velvety finish that adds an appealing bit of licorice.

Along the same line, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Heritage Ridge Vineyard comes from a tiny parcel located in the estate vineyard and is brought up all in new barrels. Cassis, smoky black fruits, chocolate, crushed stone, and graphite are just some of the nuances in this killer wine, and it's full-bodied, with a pure, focused mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. As with the Calarcadia, it's up with the crème de la crème of the vintage.
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Heritage Ridge is terrific. Medium in body, it shows fabulous depth and textural intensity. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, new leather, licorice and dark spice notes fill out the layers. Time in the glass brings out exotic floral overtones to play off the raciness of the fruit. The ripeness of the vintage comes through and there's a bit more new oak imprint, but it works well.
