The 2023 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge comes from vines planted in 1995. It has complex aromas of raspberry, strawberry, orange peel, Fernet and woodsy perfume. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated, crunchy flavors. It’s framed by silky tannins and vibrant acidity and has a long, layered finish. A total of 237 cases were made, and it will be released in August 2025.

A medium red color, the 2023 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge is more focused on the nose, with bright spices, dusty earth, dried herbs, and wild strawberries. The palate is refined and elegant, with a linear feel and a graceful texture. It’s one of my favorites from this appellation. Drink 2025-2037. One of the most historic names in Sonoma, the Martinellis are sixth-generation winegrowers based in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Prolific farmers, all of their wines come from estate-grown fruit, with 90% of the grapes sold off to other wineries. In addition to focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, they also produce Zinfandel, Syrah, and Muscat of Alexandria. Courtney Robinett Wagoner joined the team in 2015 as the assistant winemaker before being promoted to winemaker in 2017.
