The 2022 Corton Blanc Grand Cru is three-quarters from "Les Bressandes" and one-quarter from "Corton Chaumes". Funnily enough, de Nicolay's parents were planting this parcel in the 1980s, but the nursery had run out of Pinot Noir, so they planted Chardonnay instead (Good thing they didn't just have Ugni Blanc left on the shelves). Pineapple chunks open the nose—this is ripe and a little exotic, as it usually tends to be. The palate is rounded on the entry with pineapple and yellow plum notes, a bit low in acidity with a slightly honeyed finish. This is an early-drinking Corton Blanc.
