(from dark soil rich in organic material): Bright red with ruby highlights. Aromas of black raspberry, violet, black licorice and spices. Boasts lovely texture and grain but the flavors of black fruits, stone and menthol are very primary today. This youthful wine should benefit from its final months of élevage .

The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur, from the village part of the vineyard, has an elegant bouquet with raspberry coulis and wild strawberry scents, a touch of sous-bois and briary - powerful, developing violet scents in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannin, quite bold and forthright, not a wine of finesse but it has a certain amount of hubris.
