Score 88/100 · Drink 2003-2018, Robert Parker, Dec 2003
The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, from a tough vintage, is not as powerful as most examples. Nevertheless, it possesses a deep ruby/purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of damp earth, black currants, tobacco leaf, and saddle leather. Medium-bodied with supple tannin, and a surprisingly long finish, it may improve in the bottle, and prove to be unusually long lived for the vintage (12-15 years). Tel. Medium red. Vinous aromas of cherry, redcurrant and tobacco. Sweeter and rounder than the 1999, with a bit more flesh and fat to buffer its structure. In a distinctly suppler style. Finishes with sweet tannins.
