(15.8% alcohol) Good ruby-red. Musky, nuanced nose combines sappy cherry, raspberry, minerals and earth. Sweet and layered, with a lush, fine-grained texture and perfectly integrated acidity. Very rich but quite dry. This rather powerful pinot builds impressively toward the finish and really lingers on the palate.

Complex forest floor notes along with violets, raspberries, cola, and jammy cherry and currant notes jump from the fabulous bouquet of the 2003 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge. Deep ruby-colored, there is no disappointment following the stunning aromatics when the wine hits the palate. There is plenty of tannin, but it is generally well-concealed by extravagant levels of fruit, body, and concentration. It is a noble expression of one of northern California’s great Pinot Noir vineyards. It should drink well for 8-10 years. Tel. (707) 525-0570; Fax (707) 525-9463

Martinelli

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
