Score 93/100 · Drink 2023-2028, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Jun 2023

Fully in its tertiary phase, showcasing waves of undergrowth, soot, campfire, tobacco, oyster shell, soy. There is a core of sweet wild strawberry, but I suggest enjoying it soon, while the fruit remains in tact, as incredibly it feels a little more tired than the 1973 vintage, also tasted here. Tom Selfridge's last vintage as winemaker, and Joel Aiken would have blended and bottled it in his first vintage. American oak for ageing, not new.

Score 85/100 · Drink 1992-2002, Robert Parker, Apr 1992

Last Tasted 3/92 Medium ruby with no signs of age, this wine offered up a light intensity, spicy, elegant, innocuous bouquet, exhibited ripe, medium-bodied, attractive flavors, and a compact, angular finish. It should drink well for 5-10 years.
