Tasting notes
Crushed rocks, cranberry, pomegranate, and tart cherry notes intermixed with some hints of gravel and terroir characterize the 2004 Pinot Noir Rochioli Riverblock. This wine is backward but reveals good depth and plenty of acidity. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Dark red with ruby highlights. Complex and enticing on the nose, offering red cherry, rose petal, cola and loam-a real essence of Russian River Valley pinot. Suave and silky-smooth in the mouth, with pretty red fruit, floral and earth flavors. Less complex than the Flax but this boasts a wonderfully accessible texture. Finishes with sweet tannins and noteworthy persistence. Perfect for drinking over the next four or five years.
About the producer
Williams Selyem is an iconic Russian River Valley winery best known for its Pinot Noir. Producing restrained yet classically Californian expressions of the heartbreak grape (as well as a host of other wines), the property has gone from pioneer to one of the region’s standard-bearers.
