Tasting notes
The 2017 High Fidelity, Lede's Cabernet Franc/Merlot-based blend, is dark, plush and inviting, with tons of immediacy and size to back it up. Mocha, espresso, red plum, licorice, anise and dried flowers add shades of aromatic nuance, with the distinct presence of Franc bouquet really driving the feel. Racy and voluptuous to the core, the 2017 will drink beautifully right out of the gate. The natural radiance of the year is obvious, and yet all the elements are nicely balanced.

The 2017 High Fidelity Red Blend is deep garnet-purple in color with a nose of baked blackcurrants, warm plums, blueberries and fragrant earth with wafts of wild sage and violets. Medium to full-bodied, it is a little lean on the mid-palate yet possesses plush tannins and offers an attractive, gentle expression on the finish. While I'm calling this as I see it, I wouldn't be surprised if this improves with a couple of years in bottle.
