Score 95/100 · Robert Parker, Dec 2009

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Songbook (78% Cabernet Sauvignon) is from David Abreu’s vineyard and is the most up-front and seductive of these offerings. Its dense purple color is accompanied by sweet notes of creme de cassis, forest floor, underbrush, licorice, tobacco leaf, and spice. Lush, full-bodied, exuberant, and impressively pure, with a multilayered mouthfeel as well as terrific texture, this stunning wine can be drunk now or cellared for 2-3 decades. As the results attest, owner Cliff Lede, manager David Abreu, and up and coming winemaker Michelle Edwards are all obsessed with high quality. The ubiquitous Michel Rolland is also in the background for blending, consulting, etc. The 2007s appear to be stunning efforts. Tel. (800) 428-2259; Fax (707) 944-8020
