Score 89-92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2012
(just two barrels produced, one of two new, owing to a yield of 15 hectoliters per hectare; vinified with 100% whole clusters): Sexy aromas of currant, coffee, bitter chocolate and musky earth, with hints of smoky, toasty oak and animal fur. Suave, fine-grained and classically dry, with a black plum flavor currently carrying a full load of chocolate-and-coffee oak. Finishes with serious tannins. Will this absorb its oak?
