Score 86-87/100 · Robert Parker, Dec 2000

The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Select possesses a licorice, cassis, and leafy-scented nose, but hard, tough tannin as well as a sinewy mid-palate and finish. It reveals the lack of full physiological ripeness achieved by this mountain vineyard. (Not yet released) Tel. (707) 965-3020; Fax (707) 965-0324
