Score 89/100 · Drink 2005-2015, Robert Parker, Feb 2005

The 2002 Pinot Noir Rochioli River Block Vineyard’s dark ruby color is followed by a sumptuous bouquet of flowers, plums, Allspice, sweet kirsch, and minerals, medium to full body, a touch of austerity, but an elegant, concentrated personality. It should drink well for a decade. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Full ruby-red. Very ripe, urgent aromas of crushed berries, violet and rose. Fat, sweetly oaky, dense and seamless, if less expressive today than the Allen. But this is chewy and perhaps even longer on the finish. Here the tannins are a bit youthfully tough and in need of patience.
