(30% new oak): Bright yellow with a faint green tinge. Slightly fresher and less exotic on the nose than the basic village offering, with an aroma of nectarine joined by a suggestion of green tropical fruits. At once dense and juicy, this premier cru displays attractive equilibrium and texture to its stone fruit and spice flavors. Not hugely complex but still a bit tightly coiled in spite of its early balance. Finishes juicy, spicy and persistent. (13% alcohol)

The 2016 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru les Chaumées has a slightly dusty bouquet at first, quite earthy, a little withdrawn compared to the other cuvées. The palate is more fresh and vivacious with a fine bead of acidity, notes of white peach and candied orange peel with just a touch of orange zest that enlivens the short but focused finish. Fine.

(less frost here; production was about 25 hectoliters per hectare): Bright yellow. Classic aromas of fresh pear and menthol. Offers noteworthy texture and depth, with sound acidity shaping and intensifying the flavors of orange, pineapple, spices and flowers. This wine clearly suffered less from the frost than a number of Colin's other vineyards. Finishes firm but not dry, with very good persistence.
