The 2022 Pinot Noir Sweetwater is gorgeous. Bright, translucent and super-expressive, the 2022 marries effusive aromatics with chiseled fruit. The blend of 777, Rochioli Wente and Chalone clones yields a Pinot of tremendous distinction. Lavender, orange peel, spice, mint and blue-toned fruit all grace this exquisite, crystalline Pinot. This is impressive juice. The 10% stems are beautifully integrated. (AG)
The 2020 Pinot Noir Big Hill has a medium ruby-purple color and pure, layered scents of pomegranate, cranberry, conifer, bergamot, aniseed and iron. The medium-bodied palate is powerful and spicy, with granular tannins, bright bursts of refreshing acidity and a very long, flavor-packed finish. (EB)
Medium ruby-purple, the 2020 Pinot Noir Estate is bursting with spicy cranberry, pomegranate, autumn leaves and Angostura bitters aromas. The medium-bodied palate is grainy and fresh with a concentrated core of ripe red fruit, and it has a long, layered finish. Blended with grapes from several vineyards across the Rochioli property (including Little Hill, Sweetwater, Big Hill, West Block and East Block), it offers lots of spicy complexity.
