Tasting notes
(14.8% alcohol): Red fruit aromas show a dill note as well as a suggestion of maderization. Seems still clenched in the mouth, with the unrefined, tongue-dusting tannins overwhelming the wine's fruit and drying the finish. Will this evolve further with more time in bottle or will it simply lose what's left of its fruit?

The deep ruby/purple-colored 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot, exhibits abundant notes of creme de cassis and flowers along with stunning purity, elegance and richness. There is not a hard edge to be found in this fully mature, gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon. A classic from Stags Leap, it hits all the sweet spots on the palate, and should drink well for another decade. This brilliant winery that burst on the scene with a bevy of high quality wines has turned out impressive wines in this vintage. www.cliffledevineyards.com
