Tasting notes
Green-tinged gold. Bright, mineral-accented aromas of citrus pith, licorice and chalky minerals. Deeply concentrated and lively, offering intense orange, lemon and pear flavors along with suggestions of iodine and smoky lees. The mineral note returns on the very deep, sharply focused finish. This is the inaugural vintage from this sandy site, which comprises 25 acres a few miles due north of the Kistler winery.

The 2009 Chardonnay Trenton Road House is one of the more intense wines in the lineup. The Trenton Road House is all about textural power and depth. It will appeal most to readers who enjoy the richer style of California Chardonnay. Layers of fruit built to an explosive finish that won't be denied, yet the wine turns intensely mineral, pointed and multi-dimensional with time in the glass. This is another great showing.
About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
