Tasting notes
Graphite, sage, lavender, smoke and blackberry jam are some of the signatures that emerge from 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville, a wine built on energy, brightness and tension. Hints of rose petal, mint, sweet spice and dark red cherry jam meld into the intensely mineral, salivating finish. The 2013 needs time to soften, but it is striking.

A towering, statuesque wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville shows just how profound this Napa Valley vintage is shaping up to be. Graphite, smoke, sage, and rosemary are some of the many notes that lift from the glass as this dark, dense wine shows off its considerable pedigree. Broad swaths of tannin lie in the background, giving the wine much of its energy and virile, imposing personality.
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville is another impressive wine in this range from Favia. Red-toned fruit, white pepper, chalk, mint and orange peel give the 2013 notable freshness and an unusually bright profile. I very much like the energy and drive.
