The 1995 Bryant Family Cabernet Sauvignon is naturally more delicate than the 1997. It shows lovely floral and savory character and a more forward expression of fruit that suggests it should be enjoyed sooner rather than later.

Healthy medium red. Inviting aromas of red berries, spices and balsamic cedar, plus a faintly liqueur-like quality. At once silky-smooth and firmly built, conveying an impression of energy to its flavors of redcurrant, wild herbs and tobacco. Finishes with dusty but harmonious tannins. This is still remarkably youthful and gives the impression that it will continue to unwind with more time in the cellar.

Bright dark red. Briary dark berries, wild herbs, cedar, red licorice and sage on the nose. Remarkably concentrated and alive, conveying a salty impression of extract to its dark fruit, spice, mocha, coffee bean and herb flavors. Not a particularly thick or opulent style (the alcohol is listed at a moderate 13.9%) but sharply delineated, penetrating and very long on the aftertaste, with perfectly buffered tannins. This classy Cabernet is very easy on the head and body.

Jammy fruits, oak, coffee bean and hints of dill create the perfume. On the palate, you can sense some heat and extreme ripeness. Yes the texture is silky, but it’s made in a style that is not aging well. Drink up. 90 Points
