Tasting notes
The 2012 Amoenus exhibits that Calistoga earthiness along with fabulously rich blackcurrant fruit intermixed with darker berries, loamy soil notes and high-quality, unsmoked cigar tobacco. Deep, full-bodied and opulent, this terrific Cabernet Sauvignon has some upfront drinkability, but also the structure and muscle to last 15-20 years.

(100% cabernet sauvignon): Bright ruby-red. Sexy, slightly high-toned aromas of currant, flowers, spices, licorice and loam. Fat, plush and velvety, with red fruit flavors complemented by strong iron and rocky nuances. Boasts a nice combination of juiciness and breadth, not to mention more stuffing than I've found in past vintages of this wine. Serious, ripe, full cabernet with substantial but sweet tannins.
