Tasting notes
Starting with the whites from this great estate, the 2018 Chardonnay Genevieve's Block is racier and more vibrant than past vintages, offering a classic nose of honeyed lemons, tart pineapple, white flowers, and chalky minerality. It’s medium-bodied and has a racy, almost tart spine of acidity, beautiful purity, and a great finish. Certainly not meant for near-term consumption, it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and should have 10-15 years of overall longevity.

The 2018 Chardonnay Genevieve's Block offers spice-laced orchard fruits on the nose with accents of hay, honey and nuts. The light-bodied palate is saline and nutty in character with a gentle roundness to the texture and a long, bright finish. 212 cases were made.
The 2018 Chardonnay Devoto Vineyard Genevieve's Block is a rich, powerful wine, yet it retains the classic mid-weight sense of structure that is such a Donelan signature. Orchard fruit, almond, dried flowers and mint all open up in a rich, textured Chardonnay endowed with tremendous class and personality.
