Score 94/100 · Drink 2025-2038, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2023
The 2018 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is tightly wound at this stage. Sweet dried fruit, leather, tobacco, spice and leather are nicely laced together. Here, too, the flavor profile leans towards dry rather than fresh fruits. Nervy tannins lend freshness and energy that extends the finish. This is an especially savory, earthy vintage for the Rocche. Its also a wine that needs time to come together.
