1999 Barolo Boscareto

The 1999 Barolo Boscareto, from an important vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba, is stern stuff. Deep garnet with black highlights, very spicy and chocolaty on the nose, but not at the expense of the classic tar, anise, and cinnamon of Nebbiolo, its superior length, power, and concentration are balanced by its classy tannins and the sheer ripeness of the fruit.
