The 1962 Échézeaux Grand Cru is stunning. Ethereal and pure on the nose, it offers gorgeous red fruit laced with brown spice, cedar and juniper. There is so much vigor here considering its age, without an ounce of refinement lost. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet core of red fruit. Vibrant and tensile, with filigree tannins and a harmonious, transparent finish, the Échézeaux oozes class. An engine firing on all cylinders, this is utterly sublime. Tasted at the 1962 dinner in Burgundy.
