Tasting notes
Serralunga d’Alba. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Firm, savoury and minerally nose with ethereal raspberry and cherry fruit underneath. Elegant and juicy with finely ground, chewy tannins that take the lead on the finish while the fruit curls up. Great balance, while the different parts need time to fully integrate. That is only a question of time. (WS)

Pouring a brick red color, the 2021 Barolo San Rocco is focused and spicy, with notes of cinnamon, cranberries, dried redcurrants, roses, and baked earth. This medium-bodied Barolo offers a good deal of energy and finesse, with fine tannins, refreshing acidity, and savory notes of ripe orange citrus through the finish. It has a lot of pleasure now, but it’s only going to benefit from another couple of years. Drink 2027-2047.
Now this has some purity and true Barolo scent, but still there's a little sweet overlay. Pinched finish. (JR)
The 2021 Barolo San Rocco marries finesse and power. Firm tannins drive through a core of red-toned fruit, iron, white pepper, dried rose petal and chalk. The 2021 is deep and resonant on the palate, but it also offers notable saline-infused vibrancy. It's a dynamic Barolo in the glass that reveals myriad shades of nuance over time.
