More elegant aromas of apple, just sliced citrus and pretty floral, especially acacia blossom, aromas are complemented by nicely detailed and vibrant, if not particularly dense, flavors that deliver good length on the balanced lemon-tinged finale. This could uses better depth so at least a few years of keeping should help. Drink 2027+

Salty-fresh citrus. Pure and stony, subtly inviting. More generous than many in this vintage. Pure, bright and stony/mineral. Good village wine with decent length. (JH)
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a flinty bouquet that soars from the glass. There is impressive tension and energy here. The palate is well balanced and quite weighty in the mouth, with cooking apple, Conference pear, a touch of menthol and an accent of spice that enlivens the finish. Drink over the next six to seven years.
About the producer
Domaine Paul Pernot is synonymous with Puligny-Montrachet. For the last 30 years, the estate – alongside Domaine Leflaive and Domaine de Montille (previously Château de Puligny-Montrachet) – has been one of the largest shareholders in the appellation.
