Tasting notes
The gorgeous 2023 Hermitage Blanc Les Rocoules screams from the glass with pronounced straw, apple skin, dried honeysuckle, dried linden blossom and light pastry. Full-bodied, bold and concentrated yet genuinely agile and refreshing at the same time, the 2023 is a delicious Les Rocoules, shaping the detailed finish with laser-like precision and utter finesse.

Using grapes from 100-year-old vines from the same name lieu-dit, the 2023 Hermitage Blanc Les Rocoules bursts from the glass with redolent verbena tea, wet stone, hay, jasmine and a slice of yellow apple. Crisp and intense, the full-bodied 2023 is yet another brilliant Les Rocoules in the making. It’s less punchy compared to the knock-out 2022, but outright delicious nonetheless. Like the traditional Hermitage Blanc from the same vintage, the 2023 Les Rocoules carries similarly stimulating, saline nuances on the expansive finish.
90% Marsanne, 10% Roussanne. Vines planted in 1926. Aged 20 months in oak. Cask sample. Floral and honeyed notes. Added complexity and concentration. Dense, broad and textural, with the potential to age. (JL)
