Wild and untamed as always yet pure, fresh and slatey on the still reductive, just slightly oaky and leathery nose with its tobacco and sweet red fruit and plum-skin aromas, the full-bodied, tight and concentrated 2016 Pinot Noir Trarbacher Schlossberg *** is juicy, nervy, salty and piquant on the palate, which is also tight and tensioned and with great astringency. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
