Tasting notes
Score 95/100 · Drink 2023-2054, Erin Larkin, Wine Advocate, Sep 2023

The 2014 season was low cropping, warm and dry. The 2014 Quintet moves into hitherto unchartered territory, with notes of bone broth, enoki and raspberry compote—there's a real blood and bone, gristle inflation on the nose of this 2014. In the mouth, the wine is, as usual, supple, red-fruited and elegant, with a score of harmonious tannin that plays into the hands of the fruit. I like the juxtaposition here—it matches, but there is diversity between the nose and palate. That is not always a good thing, but in this instance, the nose highlights aspects of the palate that I may have missed without it. It's a bit of an outlier, and I like it nonetheless. 13% alcohol, sealed under natural cork.
