2022 Volnay Clos de la Cave

The 2022 Volnay Clos de la Cave now incorporates some younger vines that were planted with high-quality selections of "Pinot Fin," which seems to only have amplified its floral, ethereal style. Wafting from the glass with notes of peonies, orange zest, rose petals and violets mingled with sweet red berries, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a suave, textural profile and a long, mineral finish. As readers may remember, it derives from a sloping parcel just below the tree line that's shaded earlier in the evening than climats situated lower down the slope.
