Score 92/100 · Drink 2023-2038, Neal Martin, Dec 2020

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Combottes 1er Cru has a lifted bouquet of brambly red fruit, freshly tilled earth and rose petal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, and quite saline in the mouth, leading to an elegant finish. Very fine.

Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2022-2038, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Combottes 1er Cru has an attractive, minerally bouquet of chalky aromas filtering though the brambly red fruit, and an appealing ethereal quality. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a fine bead of acidity and good tension. The slightly abrupt finish should broaden out during the remainder of its élevage.
