Bright ruby with a very pale rim. Zest and integrity on the nose – which is far from flashy. Lively but not heavy – presumably a true expression of the vintage. Pretty solid but definitely earthbound. Solid, rather earthy. (JR)

Good medium red. Sappy black cherry and spices on the nose; fruitier now than the village Chambolle. Then fatter and more harmonious on the palate, with good supple, accessible fruit. Tannins are nicely buffered on the lingering, ripe finish. Roumier sought wines with lighter tannins in 2004, carrying out less extraction during vinification: he vinified at a lower temperature than usual and though the cuvaison was as long as usual he did less pigeage
Deep red. Musky aromas of red berries and pepper. Offers a silky texture and good richness, even if the wine is still a bit reduced. The acids seem a bit firm-edged today, but there's good palate coverage and persistence.

Based in Chambolle-Musigny, the domaine was established by Georges Roumier in 1924. The domaine started to bottle their own wines in 1945.
