Tasting notes
Cask sample. Very primary on nose and palate. Plenty of weight and fruit ripeness here. I would prefer a bit more finesse but this needs more time to settle. Blackberry notes combined with spice and prominent oak. (AWH)

The 2020 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has another very opulent bouquet, touches of creme de menthe infusing the black fruit, just traces of pressed violet. The palate is medium-bodied with a spicy entry, finer tannins than the Chambertin and demonstrating more integration and cohesion towards the finish. This is a classy Clos-de-Bèze that will age with style.
About the producer

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, this domaine has a long history and impressive vineyards (with over five hectares of Grand Cru), but has long been considered an under-performer. Today, however, the Bouygues brothers (of Montrose and Clos Rougeard) have taken ownership and change is afoot.
