Good deep, bright red. Ripe, musky aromas of plum, mocha, dried flowers and underbrush. Supple and rich but quite dry; densely packed and nicely delineated, with little easy sweetness. Good saline minerality contributes to the impression of energy and structure. Finishes with good lift and lingering perfume, not to mention a firm tannic spine. I'd hold this for six or seven years before pulling the cork.

Deep, almost dark ruby with orange tinge. Savoury, exotic spice. Very subdued. Hint of shoe polish. Much more focused and fruit driven on the palate with a good dose of tannin. Not the most complex, but satisfying. (WS)
