Tasting notes
The luxury cuvee, the 2013 Le Plus de la Fleur de Bouard, is a limited production from what is considered to be the best parcel in the vineyard. This 100% Merlot reveals unreal concentration as well as an opaque blue/purple color, and abundant notes of blueberry liqueur, lead pencil shavings, violets, black currants and black cherries. Deep, opulent and voluptuously textured, this is a candidate for the wine of the vintage. It should drink well for 10-15 years, perhaps longer. It may be hard for readers to believe these two Lalande de Pomerols are better than many first-growths, but they are.

NHB. 100% Merlot. Very sleek and soft with a slight smoked-meat aroma and smooth structure. Tender and modern. (RH)
Le Plus is the top wine from La Fleur de Boüard. The 2013 is laced with tobacco, cedar, new leather and spice notes, but it remains compact on the palate, with good mid-palate depth and persistence. This is a terrific showing. I very much like the wine's density and resonance.
