Score 92/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Feb 2014

The 2010 Volnay 1er Cru Caillerets has a very elegant, tightly wound bouquet that needs a lot of aeration, gently unfolding to reveal mineral-rich strawberry and red-cherry fruit that patently needs three or four more years in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins: good weight in the mouth and structure, with a precise finish lingers long in the mouth. Beautiful! Drink 2015-2025. Tasted November 2013. Only two casks were filled in 2010. 30% whole bunch. Quite exciting, rich and polished. A bit sweeter than most but gives lots of satisfaction. Racy yet fruity – no fragility here! (JR)
