Pure nose; this is the most inspiring of these Joseph Colin St-Aubins. Very cool and fresh and impressive. A terroir wine that doesn’t seem to be trying too hard. Nicely balanced and notably long. Impressive! (JR)

The 2017 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru perhaps just misses the sense of cohesion that I discern in Joseph Colin’s other 2017s. I would like more vigor here. The palate is fresh and well balanced, the acidity nicely judged, and there’s a tang of white pepper on the malic finish, though as with the aromatics, I would like to see more depth and persistence.
The 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly unfurls in the glass with aromas of crisp green apple, lemon oil, freshly baked bread and white flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and layered with a pure, precise profile. Colin notes that this is a warm terroir that seldom suffers from botrytis and is favored by cooler vintages but which has suffered in the warmer climate.

Joseph Colin has fast become one of the Côte de Beaune’s most fashionable names. His first commercial vintage was only 2017, when he officially stepped away from the family business, Domaine Marc Colin.
