Tasting notes
The 2006 Cote Rotie Les Triotes is a delicate, elegant effort with restrained aromas of pepper, garrigue, soft berry fruit, earth, and background oak. While not terribly substantial, this mid-weight, stylish, finesse-filled 2006 will provide plenty of pleasure over the next 7-8 years. An up-and-coming, well-run domaine at the southern end of the appellation, Domaine Garon is producing subtle, stylish Cote Roties with a Burgundian-like sensitivity. The proprietors, the husband and wife team of Jean-Francois and Carmen Garon, used to sell much of their production to Guigal, but as so many small Cote Rotie vignerons are now doing, they are estate bottling nearly all of it.
