Cask sample. Perhaps not the finest or freshest sample. Dark-berry fruit. Fair concentration but this seems to have a bit of a hole in the middle. Bit smudgy. (AWH)

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin La Brunelle, matured in 80% new oak, has another quite opulent bouquet with blueberry and touches of cassis fruit, pressed violet and iris flower, more floral compared to the Aux Corvées. The palate is well balanced with fine definition, quite ripe, the oak a little better assimilated than the Aux Covées and therefore it reveals more of the terroir on the finish.

About the producer

Rebourseau
Henri Rebourseau

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, this domaine has a long history and impressive vineyards (with over five hectares of Grand Cru), but has long been considered an under-performer. Today, however, the Bouygues brothers (of Montrose and Clos Rougeard) have taken ownership and change is afoot.
