Fruit from the Justin Vineyard (famed for Jack Mann Cabernet). Deep crimson with soft rim. Intensely and lusciously aromatic with cassis and a touch of cedar and balsam/mint. Deep, chewy and rounded. Smoothest of tannins and still very little tertiary flavour. A deep caress of black fruit. (JH)

Excellent winemaking on show here in this premium 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon The Pennant with all the pieces in their place. Aromas are open knit and hearty with blackberry, mulberry, fruit pastille and gravel well covered by sweet, creamy new vanillin oak. That fruit richness is countered by a line of fine, yet firm tannins that come through to tighten up the lingering finish.
